What the hell is this?

If you’ve come looking for my music site, so sorry, but that’s gone away.  It seemed silly to have it up given the fact that I’m spending most of my time playing with computers these days, and rarely perform my original music (although I have been known to play some blues from time to time).

So this is my attempt at rebranding. I’m a software developer.  I spend most of my time thinking about software and computers and writing code, so I decided that I was long overdue putting up a blog for releasing any insights, discoveries, or code to the world.

I work for a great company (nameless for now) that lets me work out of my house, even though I’m on staff as a full-time, W-2 employee.  It’s given me a lot of opportunities to learn stuff.

I’ve spent a good chunk of time working in ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server, and SharePoint, but over the past few years I’ve been transitioning into more open source work: Python, Django, mySQL, Ruby on Rails, and general Linux-y, non-MS stuff. I like that I can work on just about any platform: OS X, Windows, or Linux (and in fact, my MacBook Pro has OS X, Windows 7, Debian, Ubuntu, and Windows XP installed on it).

If you really miss my music site, you can still access it here, but it’s pretty out of date.  That picture is from 2003.  I’ve gotten older since then.  And fatter.

So that’s it for the first post / placeholder post.  I hope to post pix, a CV, links to a GitHub repo, and posts about problems that I’ve worked on and solved.  But this post will have to do for now.

Thanks for stopping by!
